SPIE – Filling a vacuum in the market

SPIE

After 18 months without live events, Scanwel is excited to be exhibiting at SPIE Photonex and Vacuum Expo next week (29 – 30 September 2021). Taking place at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC), Glasgow in Scotland, the UK’s premier photonics event combined with Europe’s leading event for vacuum-enabled techniques and processes brings the whole supply chain together under one roof, from supplier companies, consultants, industrial users, researchers, science groups, and innovative start-ups.

Scanwel, who offers expert solutions in vacuum, surface and nanoscience will be exhibiting at the conference alongside its partner SPECS Surface Nano Analysis GmbH. SPECS specialises in the development and production of customized UHV surface analysis systems. Its scientists and engineers are embedded in a global team of more than 150 employees designing, producing, selling and maintaining instruments for surface science, material science and nanotechnology.

John O’Donnell, Regional Sales Manager at Scanwel explains: “We are greatly looking forward to exhibiting at SPIE. After so long not being able to meet our partners and clients, to be able to see so many in one place is truly energising.  We are also excited to hear Mirko Weidner from our show partner, SPECS present about Near-Ambient Pressure XPS (NAP-XPS) at 11am and 4:50pm on the first day of the show.

“The presentation is designed to give an overview of recent advances in technology, experimental geometries and outstanding results from the field of NAP-XPS, pushing the limits of the XPS technique ever further. It should be a fascinating session.”

During the start of 2021, Scanwel underwent a rebrand and strengthened its capabilities with new appointments throughout the business. SPIE provides an opportunity to showcase the new brand and demonstrate the business’ future ambitions.  Scanwel manufactures and distributes components and systems to end users and OEMs in academia, government laboratories and industry. It provides leading edge technology products for surface analysis, microscopy and vacuum. Its product range includes a wide variety of vacuum hardware including flanges, fittings, components, chamber manufacturing and bespoke systems.
